Has anyone had occasion to buy a backhoe attachment for their Kubota BX 2200? If so, what are the choices you looked at and what did you get and how is it working?

Sorry nobody responded specifically about the BX. In general, there is a lot of discussion in the archives about the risks of using a backhoe on smaller tractors as well as issues related to sub-frame vs. 3ph mounts. It would be good to read the old discussions. It also would be good to get recommendations from a dealer. I believe there are some warranty issues on some Bota models. A general conclusion from reading the archives is that sub-frame mounts are less stressful on the tractor than 3ph mounts, and the issue becomes more important for small tractors that have aluminum cases. However, sub-frame mounts tend to compromise the use of other implements. Sub-frame mounts also are fairly specific to a tractor. The real question is, if Kubota doesn't manufacture a sub-frame hoe for the BX, do any after-market manufacturers make one that fits the BX. A 3ph type probably should be avoided (although I have one) for my Ford 1710, but a question for the BX is whether some after-market 3ph hoes would mount on the narrow BX hitch. ....

I have not seen anything on a backhoe for the BX series yet. As much as Tom worries about the frame width and the differential housings I don't think that there is to much to worry about unless you see a 9' hoe being offered, which I believe what we will see is a 6' or less with out full frame connections as many people have stated previusly that there is not a lot of room under these tractors. ....

One of the main reasons I picked the B7500 over the BX 2200 was Kubota has a backhoe for the B series and not the BX. I haven't bought a backhoe but I have it on my wish list for next year. ....

As a Kubota dealer, We are recomending you don't put a hoe on the BX. at this time Kubota has not given the ok to any backhoe mounting. A hoe mounted could create a warranty issue down the road. ....

thanks to everyone who took the time to reply - we'll pay someone to come by with a back hoe and get the bells and whistles made for the BX 2200 instead! thanks you all. Wayne ....

I talked to my local Kubota dealer a couple of months ago and they told me that ( I think this year) Kubota was coming out with a BX22 that will accept a back hoe. ....
